Say hello to the latest video editing time saver—multi-item editing tool in Clipchamp. The intuitive multi-item editing feature makes your video editing experience time efficient and more accessible.

You can now apply effects to multiple video clips, images, music and sound effects, stickers, text, and overlays. Multi-select video assets and change their properties and apply different effects and filters all at once.

How to use the multi-item editing feature in Clipchamp

The multi-item editing tool is available to all free and paid subscribers. You can edit two or more selected assets at once if they share the same property. For example, if you select two audio tracks or an audio track and video with audio, you can edit the volume of both assets.   

Step 1. Import videos or select stock footage

To import your own videos, photos, and audio, click on the import media button in the your media tab on the toolbar to browse your computer files, or connect your OneDrive.

You can also use free stock media like video clips, video backgrounds, and stock music. Click on the content library tab on the toolbar and click on the visuals drop down arrow, then videos, photos, or backgrounds. Search through the different stock categories using the search bar as well. Drag and drop your video onto the timeline to get started.

Step 2. Use the multi-item feature to add filters and effects

Apply effects to your videos

Add effects like VHS, glitch, slow zoom, and blur to multiple video clips at once using the multi-item feature. Hold down the shift key on your keyboard, then click on the assets on your timeline that you would like to edit at once. Your assets will highlight in green. Next, click on the effects tab on the property panel, then click on an effect to apply to all videos.

Apply filters to your videos

To add filters like contrast, retro, black and white and color overlays, hold down the shift key on your keyboard, then click on the assets on your timeline that you would like to edit at once. Your assets will highlight in green. Next, click on the filters tab on the property panel, then click on a filter to apply to all videos.

Step 3. Use the multi-item feature to edit multiple audio tracks 

To edit multiple audio tracks at once like adjusting the volume, hold down the shift key on your keyboard, then click on the audio assets on your timeline that you would like to edit at once. Your audio should be highlighted in green. Next, click on the audio tab on the property panel and use the volume slider to adjust the audio of multiple tracks.

The multi-item editing tool also lets you add fades to multiple items. hold down the shift key on your keyboard, then click on the audio assets on your timeline that you would like to edit at once. Your audio should be highlighted in green. Next, click on the fades tab on the property panel and use the sliders to add fades.

Step 4. Save your video

Once you’re finished editing, save your video by clicking on the export button and selecting a video resolution.
